This looks promising. I began using PS with absolutely no therapy, advice or tips. I just started prolonging the first sound(I DON'T focus on the vowels, just the first sound). I always take a breath before speaking. I have had great improvements for 79 straight days. Anybody else here have any luck with prolonged speech?

Do you know what they mean when they prolong every consonant? Like, how do you prolong a B,D,or T sound?

>>>Could you explain how to stretch out a consonant>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Look at 'skill two' on the prolongating speech therapy page above. This is what it says:

"Some things patients tend to do wrong:

Stretching only the vowel within a syllable (e.g., veeeera instead of vvveeera or trooop instead of tttrooop"

I can't offer any advice on this therapy as I haven't tried it yet. I just stumbled across it today. I DO know that prolongated speech has help me a great deal in the past 2 1/2 months and it is the most used speech technique to help stutterers(or so I'vr read over and over in the past 2 weeks by doing web searches.

Good luck (to me too :O)
