Alright everyone, today is officially the last day of my summer vacation until I go back to school tomorrow. I have some goals planned for this semester and really want to improve myself as a person.

Here are some of my goals:
- To get good grades; not settle for anything less than an A (have to maintain an A average so I can be the best :D )

- Be more assertive when around people (i.e. when I walk in the class for the very first day, I'm going to sit near people rather than sit by myself and feel like a loner)

-I won't let the stuttering hold me down, when I'm trying to meet people. If I stutter, oh well. It's not the end of the world.

Aside from doing well in school, I really want to apply the second and third of my goals listed above for a speech course I'm taking this semester. I wasn't planning on taking a speech course with the stuttering and all but I felt I have to do this and destroy my fear of talking in front of people. Besides, it's going to help me in the long run to become a better person (like most of you positive adults here on this site who don't let stuttering affect you).

Well, I'm off to get ready for school. If you have any other advice please feel free to comment.

thanks for the encouraging words guys, it didnt go too bad, i blocked up a few times but alot better than the last time i talked in class and i actually think i might have passed this speech, what made more worried was that i had to comment on a really attractive girls work, but it didnt go too bad, at the end of the day i figure if social anxiety is the worst of my problems, then i should thank my lucky stars

Great goals and don't forget. Have "FUN"!!!! Smile a lot, because that is very contagious and you may not know who will smile back. Good luck and don't forget about us.
