Alright, as you already know I have a speech course that raises my anxiety higher than a middle aged person's blood pressure. Well, I'm going (much rather say planning) to find a way to conquer not erase my stuttering. I personally believe you can not eliminate stuttering but can learn to adjust and maintain a frequency to speak fluently.

My test comprises of two different environments: Enclosed and Outside

Enclosed - Area which is controlled and you have total advantage

- You are going to need a mirror, can be any size mirror as long as you can see your whole head and a recorder to record your speech.

Practice 1:
- While looking in the mirror, describe yourself for about two minutes while recording your conversation. Remember to speak clearly and don't try to use avoidance words (i.e. you try to say appreciate but say something else to cover up a possible stutter)
- After two minutes, listen to your conversation on your recording. Ask yourself:
Was I speaking clearly?
Did I try to use avoidance words?
- Continue to do Practice 1 using this techniqe and other forms besides describing yourself. Maybe talk about your day, etc (it's up to you :) )

Practice 2: You're going to need a partner to do this activity. Hold a conversation back and forth for about five or ten minutes. Have your partner rate you on following conditions:
Did he/she maintain eye contact?
Was he/she speaking clearly enough to be understood?
Did he/she use a distraction method? (i.e. move legs or hands around when talking)

* It would be extra helpful if you record the conversations together rather than separately.

Depending on your response to my test I'll think of more practices for enclosed and outside testing.

*Remember, I'm not a doctor, I only play one on t.v. :D

Just kidding, I'm trying to help others who stuttering is hindering their lives. Maybe I'll write a book if this goes right!

Oh, if you have any suggestions please feel free to add to the practices. Let's all help each other!
