This post was brought up a while back but I'm still unclarified as to what the difference is....

Why do people say a very nasty stutterer is a person who cannot talk or can't talk??

And why do people say a person who is choking or is a mute is one who cannot talk???

Being mute is one who cannot talk...

So what were saying is a stuttering person is a mute person, because a mute person is one who cannot talk!!!

I had been told I cannot talk at times, but I always think but would never say:: "I'm not a mute!, your confusing stuttering with muteness!"

Or it could mean a stutterer is the same as a mute which it is not, but that's what people seem to be saying when they say a stutterer cannot talk!!

Stutterers are not mutes, they can talk but it's in a very garbled troublesom manner!!!!!
