I find it sad that just because a person does not stutter that they have to be attacked in this site and accused of not understanding what it is like...I think those who don't stutter unlike yourselves in here, do understand more than you think they do.... what it is like for you to get the words out, but instead of being patient and understnading with a non stutterer ,I see people that are judgemental and cruel to the non stuttering and those who are also cruel to the stuttering. Yes sometimes people in the non stuttering do not like to wait for you to get out what you have to say but there are others who are not as coldhearted and who are supportive and accepting and understanding. So why place hatred and judgement on anyone. Instead of placing hate and judgment maybe try and see things from a non stutterers perspective and have them see what it is like from yours in return. Not all non stutterers are ignorate to the stuttering , but there are a few out there who think it is funny to make fun of and mock or humiliate the stuttering , but I do not think it is funny to make fun of those who stutter or have any other problem whether physically, mentally or speech wise.

I agree people don't always understand or know how to accept when they meet someone who stutters, but I think as a society that the stuttering needs to help the non stuttering realize that just because you aren't able to get the words out as fluently as someone else that you are still a person and have feelings and are able to do things that a non stutterer can do but maybe just not as easily or fluently. Ask yourselves this if you met someone who was mentally or physically disabled and no I don't mean stutters would you be as cruel and as hateful towards them as you would a non stutterer?

My question is a legitimate one! I am sorry you can not accept that! Personally I do think in here it is the stutering against the non stuttering because there have been posts made in here against non stutterers by those who stutter so dont sit there and tell me that my point of view isnt correct

im jumping on to this late, but isnt this a stuttering forum - thats not to mean non-stammeras are not welcome, but id imagine if non-stammeras were to use this forum they would have respect for us stammeras... i dont know what has happened and im finding it seriously hard to catch up as before i posted today i havent been on here for about 3 months as i went travelling to thailand..

All i wanted to say is theres no need what so ever for anyone to argue, this place (in my mind) is where we can come together and share our thoughts and feelings.. a place where i hope i can help show stammeras that there is a light at the end of teh tunnel, ive been through it like many on here and you honestly think its never gonna end and your gonna be held back in life - its not true and life is what you make of it.. a stammer is only a stammer, just like (for example) a big nose is just a big nose... we all get dealt our cards and all have equal chance to use them as we please...

What's with all the hostility? I've read through many old posts and I don't understand all your recent negativity.

You appear to be looking for an argument and I don't understand why.
I think its honorable that you care enough about stutterers to be here but in light of your most recent posts I'm starting to have questions regarding your intentions.

I wanted to clarify that it was never my intention to make any comparisons to anyone, epecially people I never knew here or otherwise.
I'm not calling anybody out and I don't want anyone aggravating anything.
Cherokeeprincess is here with us sharing her valuable perspective and I just know that sometimes I get very angry and lose sight. Sometimes all it takes to "snap out of it" is just having someone ask the right thing the right way.
Please, no ganging up here.
I can't talk for the "stuttering ", I've been a stutterer my whole life but didn't even know of a stuttering until a few weeks ago.

I hope cherokeeprincess didn't take my comments the wrong way and I hope noone else takes teh opportunity to gang up on her either.
