Yeh i tried it 18 months ago!had 8 hr long sessions hoping that the next session would be the one but it didnt help that much and im back to square one!

But all therapists have different success rates so dont let my experience stop you from having your own

Good Luck!!

I have also tried hypnosis..
So that is what's wrong, you were made to think you are a scott but really an english man.

I watch that movie shallow Hal, and Mr. Robbins had an switch, an word that he use to switch Hal back into his old self. I don't know if I want to be put under, don't know what kind of person I would become. That is my 2 cents, but yes do let us know how it goes. I'm interested in hearing about it too.

This guy cls the session last for 3-5 hours for 250 bucks, so that sounds like im getting my moneys worth, no??. And hes usually able to get it in one. OK, so i plan and meet with him next wednesday, will post with the results.

How does this hypnotist know what the underlying problem is? Unless he has evidence on what is causing you to stutter, it is useless. I went to many sessions to a top hypnotist with little results which didn't last anyway. They can say relax, etc. but they aren't treating the underlying problem which stuttering may be a symptom of. If you're tight on cash, I'd cancel the appointment. If money isn't an issue, I guess you don't have much to lose.

i live in NY, thats not an issue of getting here (expense wise). He cls he can take away the nervousness and the anxiety that causes the stutter. Like put me in a state where im alone or drunk and i dont stutter. He cls his colleague helped cure stuttering John. have no idea what the hell his 'relaxation' or 'hypnosis' means, but i wanna find out.

If you remembered I posted here a few weeks ago, about trying a session of hypnosis for the cure of the stuttering. Well, I finally went last night and here is my synopsis. For starters, I stuttered when I walked in, I stuttered when I walked out. Although towards the end of the session, I felt more ‘relaxed’ so was talking a bit easier (which ended soon after).

Regardless, let me describe to you the process and how I felt during the session. First, the hypnotist seems like a nice guy but a bit full of himself. He cls, hes seen 10,000 people, including many actors, politicians, and mob guys. He says he kicked out Robert Downey jr because he came in high. He said he cured, Salista (I can’t spell) Flockhart. Whatever.

Secondly, the length of the session was close to four hour longs, with him cracking jokes the entire time and asking me questions about my life. He urges me to use the bathroom before the hypnosis begins, although I just went 20 minutes ago in my office, but I some how manage to get another 5 ounces more out of me to make him happy. He asks me a list of questions, like “what will make me happy”, or “what will I do if I didn’t stutter” etc, he says lean back and relax and continues with his, very scripted hypnotic speech what he used to get their clients into this ‘deep relaxed state”, I was aware of every thing, and continued to question in my mind whether or not I was in hypnosis. So for maybe a half an hr of him verbally telling me exactly what I answered to his questions he asked me right before I closed my eyes, he finally snaps and my eyes open. Still unaware if that’s what hypnosis was, I begin speaking, maybe some how I magically received a stuttering cure without realizing it. He did tell me that my words ‘will fall out of my mouth’, let me try it out and see, yet I was still stumbled on big words but a bit more relaxed. He then started the next phase, he puts on these blinking glasses with my eyes closed with a stuttering beep in the headphones, and soothing music pumping out a player. He tells me to relax again and get even more relaxed, I still have no idea what that means, I cant get more relaxed. He tells me via script and by heart, as if hes done this way to many times, that im doing fine and doing great, yet this annoying flashy lights and his telling me doesn’t really have me believing that. 40 mintes later, I take off the glasses, still just feel tired that I havnt moved in 2 hours from his comfy seat. He then tries the real hypnosis what you see on TV, where in 30 sec, he pulls your arm down and head down and should not be aware of anything. Needless to say I was aware. He began asking me where I am in school and why am I nervous, im like what the hell are you talking about, I open my eyes during this phase which he notices, and says ‘ well that’s the end of that’. You would think, with 10,000 clients, Forbes top 4 hypnotist (so he cls) , and he cant get me frigin hypnotized. So, 250 dollars later, he gave me 10 cd’s to listen to, but 1 he said will help me develop deeper hypnosis and will get me to trust my subconscious mind better. There were too many things in my mind, or maybe im just not a good subject to hypnotize (or many jews in general he said are harder to hypnotize). Maybe in a few weeks, after listening to the cd’s, ill go back. Well, there you have it.. (if you actually read this entire post).

I have been to many shows and seen too many people do very silly stuff on stage that has got me nervous. They do say that you are not supposed to talk to them when they return to their seats, before the guy says the magic word or the trick won't work. I haven't been to an adult show yet, but I'm pretty nervous about the whole thing.

It sounds like you aren't a good candidate for hypnosis. I've tried hypnosis and was "under" but it didn't help me for more than a couple of days at a time. I did do research online b4 seeing my hypnotist and found a script for him. From the "words are falling out of your mouth" that you mentioned yours said, it sounds like he may have used the same script? (see the 2nd sentence in the 2nd paragraph)
