Hi, I was wondering if anybody is involved with a NSA Chapter or a leader of a Chapter in your area. I am trying to start one up in Indiana, I have a phone interview tommorrow for it. Just wanted some input on what you do in your meetings and if it has helped you out.

Thanks,
Chris

Hi, thanks, the interview wasn't too bad, it really wasn't a interview just a overview of being a NSA leader. So, I am starting a NSA Chapter in Indiana now, I am excited and nervous at the same time. I know it will be good for me and help me grow as a person, and help other stutterers as well. Also, if anybody on here has been to a chapter meeting, I would be pleased if you could share ideas and things you didn't like so I can try to incorporate them in our meetings.

Good news to hear so.

I wish you best of luck on your quest to be an NSA leader in Indiana. I wanted to ask you some things.

What are the duties of an NSA leader ?? Are you like the one who publicizes NSA name to the public to get more stutterers to know that there is something called NSA ?? And do you need to be a stutterer to be a leader or you shouldn't ??

I live in Egypt and we don't have such thing as NSA. Me and a group of stutterers here have made a small society online and we hope to expand our actions further. I just wanted to get ideas from you based on your answers to my questions.

Thanks

Hi kghayesh, thanks, I hope it goes well. The duties of the leader are to organize promote the chapter in the area. We then will conduct monthly meetings, with stutterers, as well as non-stutters and Speech therapist are all welcome. Its a support group to talk about experiences, help each other, its a therapy-neutral environment your not trying to encourage one therapy over another, just support one another. Its a place where stutterers hopefully will feel comfortable to talk.

Glad to hear all went well and that you are going to take the bull by the horns. Wish you the best of luck with this endeavor.

BTW, whereabouts in Indy to you live?

Peace,

Elliott
I was going to ask you if you were from the same state, Elliott.

Hi Elliot, I am from Carmel, IN, but plan on starting the chapter in Terre Haute since I am in school down here at Indiana State. Are you from the area? I look foward to the adventure, I really think it will be a building block for myself in accepting my stutter and organize a group that will support all who stutter and are interested in stuttering.

Chris, good luck, it is good to see people grabbing the bull by the horns and running with it. Your an inspirations to the rest of us stutterers.
