I've stuttered my whole life. At some stages in my life it has gotten better but then back to worse. I've seen so many people about it that I finally gave up. For younger kids dealing with the same thing I have... it's not easy. I had to go through the teasing and everything that kids go through. My dad always said it's in my head cause sometimes I could be fine and others a wreck. I still at 31 years old find it hard to get through life day to day. So many things I want to say but can't. Conversations I want to have but can't. I've even given up on drive thru's cause I always hear a laugh through the intercom. It's not easy. I met with this teacher a few years ago named Dr Bob Kroll. Everyone said he had the answers but this guy was clueless. He told me his brother stuttered and he had all the know how. Well let me tell you... if you don't stutter, you will never understand. I've been lucky enough to have a great set of friends through out the years who understand. I now have a great career in construction and I live life. In my 20's I took drugs to forget the fact that I stuttered and for the most part it helped. I never stuttered being out of it. Now don't get the wrong message... YOU should never do drugs to run from something. You need to take it day by day. There is no real cure. I know there are kids on here with the same issues I went through. The stuff I went through could be put into a movie and bring people to tears. I for one have never felt sorry for myself and you should not either. You need to wake up everyday and have a better day then yesterday. |

I'm glad I'm not the only one who hates drive-thrus!
