Default Re: Intro/Hollins

It amazes me what posts get the most action.

I've been to Hollins and religiously have practiced Schwartz's and Greensteins "technique" for years. Hollins WORKS if you put in the time, no question, BUT YOU HAVE TO PRACTICE. However, Neuropatterning is much better in my opinion without a doubt. Richard harkness attended the Hollins program and stuttered MORE after the program due to the neurological block resurfacing. I am a big believer in the neuro-block theory. I think its a subconscious reaction to perceived stress. Its uncontrollable, for now that is. for example, if my brain perceives me being trapped(claustrophobic), I IMMEDIATELY become anxious. I don't have time to consciously think about it. It just happens. Same thing with stuttering. This, in my opinion, is why we can be fluent alone. The neurological block doesn't surface because the brain doesn't perceive stress.

Can you share with us how the neuropatterning works exactly and how it prevents the neurological block from resurfacing? Or is it that you gave an explanation of why stuttering occurs?

Let us hear from you.

So did you say before that the Hollins program works for you if you practice?
If this is the case, then why not stick with that or is the practicing taking up too much of your time? What made you mention the air flow technique and Greenstein's technique, I did not understand this?
