I think I would have been a lot more willing to participate in class discussions and raise my hand and such back in my school days if I didn't have a stutter. Also I believe I would be a bit more confident with talking to strangers and women for dating etc.

I think i couldve become anything i wanted, owned anything i want, and impressed whoever i wanted, ive always known that im brimming with potential. But because of this, ive messed everything up, made bad decisions in fear, lack of confidence and etc. And funny thing, throughout the years, its only gotten worse.

I think it's very interesting we can so automatically understand that question without explanation. "What if I didn't stutter anymore?"
Well, sir. I would run for president or something. |

If I didn't stutter I probably wouldn't be like I am. Stuttering gave me the idea that people thought I was less intelligent. So I developed a thirst for knowledge and did everything I could to compensate for that notion. I feel if, right now, I could snap my fingers and be cured, I could be the smoothest, most intelligent person in my fields of interest. My speech prohibits me from verbally transferring decent amounts of information in a timely fashion. but typing? I'm a beast!! Lol

But it was all part of life's rich tapestry. I wouldn't be the person that I am today without everything that has gone before. If I could do a 'what if', I don't think that I would risk it. But I'm happy with my life. |
