Hey im new too this site also. Only advice i can give is, don't let it bother you...if someone is going to give you shit for stuttering they aren't genuinely good people. Those that do accept it and don't care and like you for who you are, are real friends. look at it as a way to find real people and not fake people

I am in my senior year and still confused about whether to write about stuttering in my college essay or not. What did you write about in your college essay (if you don't mind telling me)?

Hi,
i am rahul. I am frm India. I stutter a lot. I caame to the US in fall 2010. The only thing u can do i stay confident and dont let it effect you. But conciously make aan effort. Most colleges have a speech language and hearing clinic where they teach speech improvement techniques for people who stutter when they talk. i have been to on since october 2010 and have seen significant improvement.

Good luck in college, have a great year, Stay confident and keep posting.

Hello Melyanne. I dont know of your situation but I am actually a senior in high school right now, so about a year younger than you and I know that its really hard to overcome, but there are ways to try and conquer this. I don't really know how to completely cure it, but you cannot give up. Myself I am in a stuttering program that seems to work well for me as long as I keep my work up. I think that you believe in yourself and keep practicing those difficult words that you cannot muster up to say, you will eventually be able to say it.
Hope all goes well.

Hey Elyssa

Firstly, congratulations! You sound like a really bright person.
How has your experience been so far? (saw you posted in June)

I too started out college this year, having graduated dec last year.
I have to admit that 8 months down the line i'm still very much encounting hurdles everyday - so although i cant really give you advice i would love to be able to be able to correspond with you cos i think we're probably going through much of the same thing.

Sincerely,
Amy
