The Cure for Stuttering!

Most if not all Stutters live their entire life looking for the "One Cure"....that one special speech Therapist to show them that one "Special" trick that nobody has ever heard about,that may cure them.Maybe some "Google" ad from some off the wall Doctor selling a $6 THOUSAND DOLLAR ear device which most people cannot afford.If there was a true doctor that truely became a doctor to help people in need,they would not charge an arm and a leg for a small device to fit in your ear for you to talk better to improve your life,for I did indeed fall for this small device,which I must tell you made my stutter worse and my bank account.There has been millions if not billions of dollars a year spent on curing stuttering.THERE IS NO CURE!!!! The only cure for stuttering is ACCEPTENCE! You as an adult will be forever a stutter,I hate to say.You may improve your stutter,but it will never be gone.You may use alternet words for the words you cannot say,but the "Stutter" will always be there.Accept it,live life and be happy!Thats what I do.Im cool , Im a Stutter!

How does a person accept something that they just cannot handle anymore?

I was really thinking of buying one of those things. I'm sorry you had to loose that money, and I appreciate the heads up about them. I've been reading the book "self-therapy for the stutterer" and man do I highly recommend it. The book stresses that there is no single cure, but it's a great book, and will give you the confidence to fight your stuttering, and hopefully you can conquer it and not let it dictate your life!

That's what I am striving towards now, to accept it, and it's a hell of a painful process right now in particular, with the new job I got that deals with the phone, but hey if you gotta live with it...I always think to myself how lucky I am that I am not blind, stuttering sux, no ways around it, but there are people who are even less fortunate, and I'm greatful for what I do have.
