Default A very unusual topic!

This will not make sense at all, but I will try to make it as clear as possible...

I wonder if stuttering is our way of producing fluent speech??

I mean non-stutterers are of course easy and fluent to understand, but what about us???

Is our stuttering our own way of expressing ourselves fluently?? As if it is not bad we stutter, but it's just our way of communicating fluently...

Maybe deep down, our stuttering was our way of producing fluent speech?? And maybe sounding clear and fluent to us is not in the norm for us stutterers...

I just can't seem to make sense of this post, but the way I see it, is that god has given us this "language" of stuttering to make us different from each and everybody else in the world....

Maybe stuttered speech is our way of producing fluent speech and that we should not fight this stutter...

Struggling with what we cannot change and what is normal to us, and not normal to others seems to make us realize "we are fighting a losing battle, that we cannot win"

Why struggle and fight something that is part of our human make-up?

Sorry if the above is confusing!

Adam,

I am so proud of you! I totally understood your post. My interpretation is that stuttering is normal to us, so why are we trying to be like everuone else when we are not meant to be? Am I close?

Also, once you begin speaking to others who stutter, you will become more comfortable with who you are and with your stutter.

I so see you headed in a positive direction! I am so excited for you!!
