Basically just wanted to see if anyone can recommend any books on Confidence/Self Asteem. 33 Yrs old now and this past year has seen my stutter get worse. With those closest to me whom I have generally had the ability to totally hide my stutter or just can talk to fluently, I've seen recently a more frequent pattern of times where I have to really think about what I'm going to say and the pause turns into a longer pause then I usually dont say anything. But without going into details I think the most fluent time of my life was when I came back to the UK after travelling around the world for a year and was full of confidence. I needed a job and actively rang companies to arrange interviews. Telephones are the bane of my existince, I'd rather gauge my own eyes out with stinging nettles than make a call to anyone. It's getting me really low. I feel if I look into building up my self confidence again hopefully I may even get back to the stage where I arent so scared of speaking to people. So if anyone has any recommendations it would be appreciated. Rgds |
