Hello! I'm currently on Citalopram ONLY, because I fu**ed things up with the Xanax I was prescribed.
But I just want to tell you all that Xanax did improve my stuttering very much, I talked at least 60% more fluent than before. While Clonazepam did'nt do anything at all. I'm getting Xanax the "other way" now, recieving it in a couple of days. Can't get It prescribed anymore, I was a dumbass and missused it with alcohole and ended up in a real mess. Currently I'm new on the Forum, so Hello everyone, my name is Kim, 23 years old and live in Sweden. I stutter very much right now, my stuttering got worse since I quit smoking Cannabis. VERY much worse, but while I'm under the influence of Cannabis I can't barely speak at all, but under the breaks I stutter less.. Why is that? Anyone got any ideas? And anyone who can recommend any other medicine to try out? I'm open to anything, what about the Vitamine B6 thing? How many MG do you guys take? Also, Diazepam(Valium) works a kinda okey, better than Clonazepam if anything. That did'nt even cure my anxiety, but maybe my tolerance was high cause I was on Xanax before I tried Clonazepam but even on very high doses of Clonazepam It did'nt improve my stuttering at all. Valium makes me calm, kinda tired, don't really feel to talk but it goes a little bit smoother. Xanax makes me social and very happy, I kinda want to get into medium hard situations when on Xanax just to push it to the limits, but I'm afraid it wont work sometimes! Haha. I'm having typical Psychological problems too.. Anyway the stuttering drives me crazy, I'm willing to do ANYTHING to make it stop, It s my life up, I can't do anything on my own when I have my "bad days", my parents do pretty much everything for me, I feel like I'm a child. I'm a really good looking guy and people like me very much, people think I'm a bit shy and queit but I get along great with everyone, I kinda hate to dress up nice at work/school because then girls will come up and talk to me, sounds stupid but that's my sad life.... I can't use the good looks I have and can't take any chanses that comes up that involve speaking so much. But I have soo much to say that they don't know, If I did'nt stutter I guess I would have ben a guy that talks alot and feel like I could have become/gotten anywhere in this life. I HATE IT.. Feeling bad right now, just wanted to write a little and talk to some people who understand. I'm also thinking I have ADD, maybe Ritalin will work for my stuttering too , who knows, time will tell. I'm going through a BIG depression right now..... my parents don't understand, they think I just want to get "high" on the Bensoz. And my doctor don't believe me anymore because I ed up with the alcohole/benzo mix. Kind Regards, Kim, a stutterer from Sweden.

What does getting Xanax the "other way" mean? I've been on xanax for like 2 and a half yrs now, had to slightly up my dose from 1mg to 1.5 to 2 in extreme situations. It still works for me and I think it's a miracle drug. I'm tired of having to get prescriptions though.

For me it's kinda hard not using it every day if I have it because I feel so good on it and my anxiety/stress and social life works better with it, do you take it everyday? And have you become addicted?

I do however have thought about getting it online because I'm tired of getting prescriptions and completely ignorant "doctors" who don't know anything about stuttering. Can you please pm me and tell me where you get it from? I'd really appreciate it

I highly recommend getting xanax XR (or SR, means "extended release"), that way you won't have to worry about taking another dose during the day and at least for me works much better than the regular xanax. And also look through my previous posts, I think the article about xanax + anafranil is my very first one on this forum. Print out the article and take it to your doctor, it will be very hard for them not to prescribe it to you
![]() Some doctors out there are really ignorant and just not nice people at all. Sometimes I wonder how can they allow people like that to be practicing, but that's a whole different story

Just wanted to add that I'm taking xanax and propranolol which is also another pretty good drug. It slows down your heart rate and I've read that musicians take it before appearances to reduce stage fright :P It's a really old beta blocker, if not the oldest, it's been tested extensively, it's pretty cheap and I doubt it has any side effects at all.
I've also started taking a herbal tea, I think it's called St. John's wort (not sure sorry) with honey and have noticed an improvement. The herb itself is recommended for nervous conditions. Anyway, hope this helps )(Btw, chakii can you please tell me where you get the xanax because I'm really interested. Thanks.) |

Urbanmermaid, have you experienced any moderate side effects with xanax xr? I am considering taking it, but I know if it works for me, I will never let it go. I fear the long term side effects that it may cause.

i had my appointment last week i didnt get xanax yet..we was mainly was talking about my panic attacks::man those doctors love to talk: i told him that my stuttering and my panic attacks are linked together which he understands....he also says xanax might help with panic attacks at first..but he has research results saying that it stops working after a while..and i might have to increase my dosage in future if i was to take xanax..
i told him i know all about xanax addictive qualitys..and that i plan on cycling it when i get..so it wont lose its effectiveness..so he ask me to make another appointment for this friday and well see..if he dont prescribe me xanax imma just go to dr maguire he'll understand for sure |

I'm currently taking Lexapro 20mg and Xanax (generic) .25 3 times daily. I've heard Clomipramine Tricyclic Anti depressants, how are the side effects, Lexapro works pretty good despite the sexual dysfunction is ridiculous. `

I'm in the same boat as you. I was on Paxil CR 12.5mg then 25mg it helped my speech immensly probably by reducing anxiety and depression. Currently I'm taking Lexapro 20mg with Xanax Generic .25-.75mg I also supplement magnesium 500mg, and eat as much spinach as i can it really has a calming effect on me.
