Question Meditation

Hello.

I have recently been through a bad patch of stuttering and think it has mainly been due to increased pressure at work, moving house recently and generally high stress levels.

I have been thinking about trying out some meditation techniques and was just wondering if anyone else has found this useful? I have been looking at some techiques on the internet today.

Thanks,
Riverman.

Default Meditation?

Oh yes: Meditation will help a great deal if approached in the right way. My stammer was severe for 40 years. Very severe. After a month or two of meditating in the Sonoran Desert, (Mexico), consciously regulating my breathing, I found I could speak PERFECTLY. This did not last, but did last for about six months afterwards. My speech now is 95% better than it originally was. Take a look at http://www.taomoon.co.uk. See the Buddha icon.
Read and learn...
A lot of stammering has to do with changing the habits of a lifetime, and meditation can provide a way to practice something completely new. Do you breathe? Are you aware of your breathing? If you can become aware of it, then things will start to change.

Default Meditation

Opher, meditation is the door to the feeling part of your brain. With practice, I was able to feel the cause of my fears, recall long lost memories of events that shaped my life, and reevaluate "bad" memories.
Begin anywhere at all. Most meditation has the basic formular for turning off the clutter in your head. This will take some time to do well, and give you practice at persistence. From there you decide what you want to do with your new awareness. This was my path to a new life.
Good luck

Meditation is a way to submerge into the subconsciousness in order to find out the way stuttering works and its causes. It has helped me a lot in many ways, but I'm not done yet. There is a very good course at http://www.gnosticteachings.org/cont...ry/5/71/10100/

Default Re: Meditation

When I meditate, I usually sit in a dark, quiet place where I won't be disturbed, usually my bedroom, and especially since that is my personal space, and just sit quietly with my eyes closed. My meditation experience varies each time depending on my day to day experience and for how long I meditate. Usually anywhere from 10 - 20 minutes but sometimes a little longer.
